Preventative Maintenance: Waterproofing. Water penetrating a masonry chimney -- and then freezing and thawing -- can cause serious repair bills, if not prevented. A sealer isn't the answer. That traps water vapor inside the chimney, and if it has no way to escape, it condenses, freezes, thaw, ... and causes damage. We use a water repellent that won't trap water vapor, won't change the color of your chimney, but will create a photoreactive process that enables the treated surface to repel water, much as, on a magnet, positive repels positive and negative negative.
... and Capping. Available in stainless steel, copper, and brass, these units keep out more than rain and snow.
They also block access to animals who'd like to crawl in, build a nest, and raise a family. Or, sadly, to die.
